To accomplish this our editor will help inform and reach a wider audience on our digital platforms. The editor will pitch and create original stories designed for a digital audience; driving the NENC’s online engagement and curating the best local journalism from the collaborative while amplifying it onto social and digital platforms. Prospective candidates can expect to play a pivotal role in educating the Connecticut Public newsroom and our audiences about a topic that touches each, and every, person. We are seeking an energetic, highly-organized candidate to fill the full-time position of Director of Foundations and Special Projects. The Director of Foundations and Special Projects provides strategic and operational oversight of Connecticut Public’s philanthropic giving with a focus on grants and foundations and multi-channel fundraising for key strategic initiatives. Focus includes, but is not limited to, planning and directing the processes and coordination of activities related to prospecting, cultivating and soliciting funds from grantors, foundations and government to support program needs, developing and articulating case statements and proposals aligned with CT Public funding priorities and strategic initiatives, and researching and writing proposals for capital funding needs of CT Public. This position will lead efforts to increase grant and other funding sources as CT Public expands its geographic reach, content and programming plans and strategic growth initiatives.

We’re looking for someone who’s a strategic thinker, mission-driven, team-oriented, and has a “can-do” solution orientation. Our Director will be excited by working for a public media organization, in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and identifying innovative ways of increasing grant revenue and contributions. The successful candidate will consider big-picture questions, as well as analytical data as we build a deeper culture of philanthropy, more fully expanding our funding portfolio.
